MATHS and ART
What a huge effort Room 4 has been making with their Maths. We have been working on showing visual proof and using different strategies for this.
A couple of weeks ago we had a reliever and we began a piece of art, "Flowers in a Vase"
We finished these and they now look great on our walls!
DUATHLON
Well done to the students who participated in the Primary Sports Canterbury Duathlon.....I know that some children were unsure of entering and did so reluctantly:) I have heard a lot of positive comments about the day since Monday.
It is so great to see those who step out of their comfort zone and achieve personal bests!
TUI NETBALL TEAM
Well done to the Tui Netball team. They won the West Zone Netball tournament. This meant that they participated in the Primary Sports Canterbury Tournament last Thursday. The team worked extremely well together. They won all of their round robin games. Moving on to the next round they lost their next game by one goal. Their last two games: 1st one they lost by a golden point then won the last game of the tournament. 11th place out of 32 teams!
A fantastic season for this team.

Chocolate Dreams
We are so excited: Two of our students were finalists in the Wellington Chocolate Factory dream chocolate competition.
Congratulation to Nevaeh and Alexandra for achieving this finalist selection.
From there they chose 3 further winners in each category, and then 1 from each category: YAY Room 4 Did it, NEVAEH: wind the junior section.
Last Monday we had a cameraman and journalist from NZ Herald and Kea Kids news come to school. It was all very Hush Hush as Nevaeh and I were not allowed to let the secret out.
Today we found out that unfortunately, Nevaeh was not the ultimate supreme winner... but WOW what an amazing experience for our whole class and having a winner. Check out further details here
