Great Achievement

WAY TO GO ALEXANDER: first game of rugby for the season, playing amongst a group of people you don't know and coming out of the first game with Player of the Day!

Cross Country

On Tuesday we were very lucky with the weather. We were able to complete our Ilam School Cross Country event.
We had some great results. Now we have a number of Room 4 students going on to the West Zone Cross Country event in the first week of next term. Congratulations to Amelia, Poppy, Ethan, Isaac, Felix, Alexander, Michale and Levi. Now it is the training to be completed in the lead up to the event. GOOD LUCK!

GRIZZLY BAKED GOODS

We have had a lot of fun designing different foods this term, first we did the chocolate, unfortunately none of our designs were int he top 10. Then MRs Ewen found another competition with Grizzly Baked Goods here in Christchurch. They were after cookie designs.

We planned out our ideas then on Thursday we made a base mix and we all blended our own ideas together and baked the cookies.

Next step is to come up with some fantastic names.

GOOD LUCK ROOM 4

Wet Days

The last two days have been wet so we have had to be inside for morning tea and lunch time. This means that we have a lot of extra energy that we are not getting rid of outside.

On Wednesday we showed Mrs Ewen our human table. We promised that we would not do this unless Mrs Ewen was with us.

This week we have been writing letters to Lachie, he is a boy about our age who has slipped into remission with Leukemia. We heard that he had relaspsed and was stuck at home, longer than we had to with lockdown. We chose some good pre teen jokes, and added them into our letters. We hope he gets a laugh from them.

GET NEW ZEALAND WRITING

This week we received our post cards from our partner
school in Matangi.

CHOCOLATE DESIGNS

WOW we were blown away by some of the flavours of the chocolate. The designs and art work were amazing as well. Many thanks to our parents who have encouraged our class.
Check out the art work on our class wall.

ALSO check out the link about the designs. The Wellington Chocolate Factory received over 2000 entries. WCF

The photo below shows one of our students art works, this was on the company's facebook page. Yay Susanne

The Art designs look great. We are spending most of the day today, Wednesday working on our designs so that we make sure we get them finished. Make sure to come back on here soon to check them out.

Ask Me About

WEEK 8:

Wow another week that has flown by, a fast one with it only being 4 days.

We have accomplished a lot.

CHOCOLATE:

  • Design for packaging and flavour
  • Reading about where cacao comes from, consumers, who invented chocolate as a sweet
  • How many years a go was it first founded

CAINE'S ARCADE:

  • Our groups have been organised and we are now planning our cardboard arcade game
WRITING:
Mrs Ewen was very impressed with our writing we have completed. We worked on it over a few days, thinking about the setting, our language use and from which perspective we were writing from.

Here is the link to the clip we watched.
