Great writing and drawing

They stood tensely  in their blocks waiting for the gun shot  to blow.
The stadium was in an unearthly silence although the athletes were well
aware that there were thousands of eyes staring at them, waiting.
BANG.There it was, the gun shot they ran out into the tracks. 

She stared at the path in front of her well aware of the pounding feet
around her. They all wanted what she wanted,  the gold medal
but she was determined to win it. She cleared her mind of everything and
focused on the main goal of this race. She fought hard, tearing up the track
and using every ounce of her energy. 

As they ran around the four lap course they heard the sound of the
roaring crowd. They ran and fought for the first place, one thing was
clear though, it was going to be a near tie. They were all close to each other.
It was going to be hard to decide who would win the gold medal and with
thirty people racing for the same thing, yes it would be the chance of a
lifetime. And there it was right in front of them, the finish line.

She was tired but she couldn’t stop running. As she turned onto
the last lap she breathed a sigh of relief, nearly done. She looked across
at the other athletes who were not far behind her. She felt a surge of
energy and kept up her speed and then she saw the finish line
straight ahead. She took a quick glance behind her and they were
becoming more apart then they crossed the finish line, she had won!
