WEEK 9

ASK ME ABOUT MY LEARNING IN WEEK 9

WINTER SPORTS TRIALS: These were held on Friday afternoon and will be held again next Friday. We have chosen our sports now we are just sorting out which team we will be in.

PLACE VALUE: What is Place value and why is it important to understand for Maths?

CROSS COUNTRY: We have been training for the Cross Country event which is being held on Wednesday 12th April, in Week 11. What is important to remember when we are participating in this event? If you are a parent and can help us out during the event please get in touch with Mrs Ewen.

ANZAC Learning: We are all beginning to understand more about World War 1 and ANZAC day. Here is the link to one of the clips we have watched to help us with our learning. Understanding World War 1

LETTERS: Miss Williamson has read us excerpts from the book called "Jim's Letters". What does a letter require when we are writing one? Who are you writing to?

SIMILES and METAPHORS: What did you learn about these language features this week.
Can you give us an example of a simile or a metaphor in the comments?

  1. No wonder Term 1 is going so fast - Room 19 you're cramming a whole lot of stuff into 11 weeks - lots of learning and lots of sport - you're exercising your brains as well as your muscles! Ka pai!!

  2. I loved writing letters it is so much fun, when we are writing the letter it feels like you are actually in the war. And I really really loved doing winter sports, but I need to know a bit more about Netball.

  4. Yeah, Methuki, I totally agree. When you write a letter like a soldier, you must use loads of expression, or it won't be realistic. Winter sports trials were tough, but still a really enjoyable time.
