Check out the slide share we have made with our planning and designs.

We had the bridges tested by checking that they were able to hold two cups of water. GUESS WHAT: We all achieved the challenge.

YVANN"S EXPERIMENT

YVANN: He immersed an egg into a jar of white vinegar. He observed what happened to the egg over the day, the dissolving of the shell. Awesome work Yvann: What is the learning from this?

AUTUMN: We ventured out into the grounds behind Ilam Ilam School to get.a feel for what was happening in Autumn. We collected a range of leaves and had a lot of fun. Once we got back we completed a brain dump....writing down as many descriptive words as we could. Next we analysed a few poems, looking at the different language features used. We wrote our own stories and poems. Check some of them out below....

Colourful leaves that are like a rainbow.

Beneath my feet are leaves crunching and crackling to bits and pieces until you can never see them again.

Leaves gather around into humongous piles as the kids jump into the piles and throwing them in the sky and as the wind blows.

The leaves are on an adventure, they go.

When the fog comes in everything goes cold.

When I roll down the hill I can smell nature.

Autumn is here.

By Luke

Gusts of wind hitting my face unlike the summer usher.

The carpet of leaves crackling fills my ear while getting covered in the crimson ginger and brown.

Naked branches look like dark lightning bolts piercing the sky.

The smell of sweet apple pie wafts into my nose.

Clouds coming down on me early in the morning.

Leaves flying around landing on faces.

Hot chocolate runs down my throat.

The warmth gets overpowered by the cold as summer falls.

It’s time to say farewell old friend when summer leaves you behind.

Crunchy and cracking below my feet, as I scrunch up the leaves, sprinkling them till they fly to the solid ground.

Listening to the birds chirping nonstop.

Having leaf fights till it’s noon and jumping into leaf piles till it’s dark.

Having fun all day long.

By Jadelyn

Pouncing and jumping to any leaf I find, scrunching them in the process. Piling leaves and listening to birds while the sun shines brightly. Stomping and chomping while I wait for lunch, looking at the trees and Autumn stumps, scattered all around with a ray shining on the beige orange coloured leaves while I wait and listen for Autumn surprises.

The warm breeze and the almost visible and windy like fog soothes my face while I walk through paths and hide behind trees with discarded branch leaves, falling from the tippity top where bird nests sit. A sudden smell fills the air and dripplets drizzle and drop from my mouth. Feeling warm and happy, to remember this day and walk away while Autumn thoughts never drift away.

By Yvann

As summer says bye and brings its summer warmth, Autumn pops out and draws on the lush summer leaves. One by one the leaves leave their home and make a new one on the cold hard ground, the trees beg them back and their secret is revealed. As the leaves on the ground lie down people move in with their rakes. The leaves on top get frightened, they turn rosy red, marmalade and dark chocolate. As children stack the colourful leaves and jump in crunch crunch making the leaves little sesame seeds.
BY Mike

As I pick up a multicoloured leaf I examine it like an artist looking at their masterpiece.

I hear shouts and screams of classmates having fun. As I pick up my legs and start to run.

Autumn is here people, full of joy, I assure you it’s no ploy.

Leaves getting dumped and crunching around, nowhere else would you find the sound.

Leaves are amber beige and maroon only one more month until it’s June.

Golden acorns falling down, see the branches all covered brown.

Amazing Autumn everywhere! We all love this time of year!

WELCOME TO TERM 2

What a wonderful day we had today in Room 4. We began the day by looking at our learning intentions from Term 1 and reflecting on them. We then either kept the same goal or challenged ourselves by writing a new learning intention.

GEOMETRY: We had a task sheet to complete for this. We now know some ideas that we need to work on.

WRITING: We completed an A-Z chart for our holiday.

CHALLENGE: We did the Marshmallow Challenge. Check out some photos below.

Our learning with this challenge included: Being careful with the resources, trying to make the tower balanced as well as being tall, TEAMWORK: makes the dream work,  listen to other people's ideas, building a stable structure, build anything with your imagination,
