WEEK 7

We had an awesome start to the week. On Monday Brett Fairweather, the Jump Jam Expert came and visited us. The whole senior school got together int he hall for a 20 minute jump jam session. We had a fantastic time.

SCHOOL KIT WRITING:

Over the last couple of weeks we have been working on School Kit: Get NZ Writing. We have had a lot of fun coming up with great words and poems. This week we got into pairs or groups of 3 to find our way from Matangi School, up near Cambridge to Ilam School. We had to find unusual place names and road/street names. This was a lot of fun, zooming in and out using Google Maps.
Once we had our list we all worked together to tell others about the different places we found.
We wrote up a list of names and then we had to reorder them. Check out the whiteboard of our work in progress.

Week 6

Another week has flown by... everyone has recuperated well after camp. We have had another great week, with Miss Shuker. Can you remember what she has been teaching you about?
It was such a shame not to be able to participate in the school duathlon due to the inclement weather. Hopefully it is good for those who are entered in to the Canterbury Primary schools event.

Congratulations to all of our West Zone Swimmers: What awesome results we had. Even if you didn't place you all went out there and tried your very best. I am so proud of you all.

WEEK 5 Mt Hutt Camp

What an awesome time Rooms 1 & 4 had at camp. We were very lucky with the weather. The rain stopped once we were beginning our walk on the first day. As you can see in the slide show of photos, it did not dampen their spirits at all.

Week 4

WOW we are into March already. What an awesome week Room 4 had last week. They were given great praise for their creative assembly on Wednesday.

I have added the slide share below for the assembly, just ask your child to take you through it.
Congratulations to Poppy and her older sister Lily for their clip on the Dewey System. Well done to Theo on his film director debut with our Continental Drift movie.

Assembly

We are all very excited to be going to camp. Not long now. If anyone has any questions about camp please email me or come in and see me.
