Thursday 22nd: I a away on a course during the day but will be back for learning conferences.

WEEK 3

What a fantastic week we have had in Room 19 this week. everyone is very motivated and happy to be here. It has been great to watch the children become more comfortable with each other in their new environment.

NOTICES: All students should now have their Camp, learning conference and digital notices back to class. If not then please have it back by Monday 19 February.

Thank you to the parents who have signed up to our new app called Seesaw. I mentioned it in the newsletter I sent in the email during the week. We will begin to work with this more as the term goes on.

ASK ME ABOUT:

SWIMMING SESSION with Leanne: what was this about and what new skills did you learn from her teaching? What was it like swimming without goggles on

STRATEGY: New game from George. What did you like about this game?

CHOIR: We had a number of Room 19 students going to the choir session today with Mrs Blatchford. She has sent an email to all parents. Choir lessons will be every Friday from 9:30 until 10:30.

CRICKET: Well done to the girls cricket team who had their first game of the season today.

Thank you to Mr Withers and Mr Marsh for coaching and organising.

THE BRAIN:
On Friday afternoon we watched a couple of short clips about the brain. Can you remembered what we learned? What did we already know about the brain? Click on the link below to watch one of the clips again.

WHY are we learning about the brain?

Check out the game we played after to show how our brain can work to help us.

Day One Week Two

We are beginning to settle into the groove of school now. We have been discussing working together as a team.
Yesterday we had a team challenge called FEETZA. Our challenge was to mix up into groups of 5 students and to build the tallest free standing Shoe Tower.

Look at some of the photos.

Looking at the tower, wondering how they can get it to be taller.

This tower measured 69cm, what an awesome effort, great cooperative work.

BUT this tower was even higher, it was 79cm tall. After their first tower reaching about 39cm, they decided to give it another try and wow it sure worked that time. Once again Great cooperation.

WELCOME to 2018

Room 19 had a fantastic first day back to school. The Year 5 students learnt a new game called Splat, which helps to learn other students names.
We have also been discussing things that will be happening this term and also covering our diaries and making them our own.

We have our very own TV star in our class. Check out the clip of Michael and his brother at the New Brighton Park. Click on Michael's name below.
